Barn is a pronounced rustic oak flooring.
Rural but clean-lined, the refined, more modern version of rural living is appealing to very many people. And hardly surprising, it is a quite neutral style with a nod to the Scandinavian trend. So forget the copper pots, flowers prints and frills. The rural style has been fully reinvented today to become a clean-lined and luxurious design.
With the clean-lined, rural style one opts for a soft and restful atmosphere with attention to contemporary comfort and an eye for detail. It is a luxurious style with a high level of comfort.
For the colour palette one uses very many light colours such as white, beige, grey and light brown shades. Here there are no vivid contrasting colours, but “ton sur ton” shades that match each other. Prints are less evident in this style.
The fabrics used are also natural such as linen or cotton. Finally, this style also has attention for authentic elements. Accordingly, black wrought iron doors are very popular (aren’t they fantastic?) and we again see white ceiling beams and painted brick walls.
Because comfort is important and natural materials are used, the clean-lined rural style is not always the least expensive one, but hey, it’s OK to dream!
